We haven’t been to a wedding for many years, in fact it has been so long we cannot remember when it was.
This was very special as Jane’s god-daughter was getting married to her long-term partner. The setting for the ceremony was the Althorpe Coaching Inn, a Northamptonshire village stone pub and the weather was delightful.
It was a moving occasion with Emma and Becks exchanging their vows with nervousness and great sincerity. After a short time for catching up with Emma’s mum and sister, we left so that we were in a fit state for the evening celebration.
We had a short sleep at the Travelodge where we were staying before heading to the Cock Hotel for an evening of loud disco music, a small two piece band and karaoke. After a superb Indian buffet we left at around 10pm (we cannot take too much noise these days).
Ahhh, that’s where you were heading when you were spotted going through the village x
We called into the village at the last minute for the propellor cafe only to learn it has shifted to the afternoon. It was touch and go that we would make it because Jane was feeling very rough.
