At first the car testing was quite exciting but after the fourth or fifth drive it all gets a bit boring. It’s a car for heaven’s sake – four wheels and a steering wheel; it gets you from A to B. Today I tested a total of three cars within the space of four hours – Mazda CX5, Seat Ateca and a retest of the Kia Sportage. None of them are perfect (that’s my judgement of perfect). The Seat looks good and isn’t too large but it isn’t exciting and I’d have to wait for three months; the Mazda is very large and has the feel of a luxury car, also it’s the most expensive; and the Kia? Well it isn’t perfect but it has the least annoying imperfections, the 190bhp engine is very quick but thirsty and I can get one by the end of the month. I’m about 90% of the way towards making the decision and by the end of the week it will be made.

No indecision to be made by me Steve. The Kia would be my choice unless like my relatives who felt they needed a RR Evoque to go to the hairdressers in Chigwell Essex . yours is much more suited to the part of the country where you live and your lifestyle re trailer /woodchopping and that colour featured is great. I bet they gave it a fancy name like “Carribean Blue” because my car is to. all “Gold”
But to my Jaguar dealer it is “Champagne!”. But hope you get pleasure from driving it. Dont. fear taking it to ur local 5 shilling barber. Avoid Essex haircuts.

Thanks Paul but in the end I went for the Mazda, got a better car and £2k cheaper. It feels more solid and is probably the same size as a RR Evoque without the price tag. I’ve gone for a misty blue ((blue reflex mica) and should take possession before the end of the month. It’s in Zeebrugge awaiting shipping to Immingham which is next door to Grimsby.
I do wonder why you bought a Jaguar whatever the colour (champagne? Really?). They’re overpriced and reliability is questionable.
As for the 5 shilling barber, I walk to Rachel’s and she charges a lot more than 5 shillings. Considering how little hair I have I think each single hair cut costs several pence. Jane cut my hair for 20 years and it didn’t cost me a penny.
I think I know which one I would go for. Exciting stuff!
Do tell – which one would you go for? Last night I thought it was a straightforward decision but I’ve woken this morning confused again. I need to rerun the decision program in my head.
