Jane’s Home

NHS-cartoonJane was discharged from hospital on Thursday afternoon with her clexane injections which are to be administered daily. Our ex nurse neighbour, Lucie came in and did the first one and I did my first yesterday (Friday). Before leaving the hospital Jane was seen by two oncologists who confirmed that the chemo wasn’t working, Jane had suspected this, and the liver tumour had progressed. We won’t know the options available but he said that the “door was not closed on treatment” so we continue to live in hope. She remains very breathless and it may take several weeks for the situation to improve because although the clexane prevents any more clots the body (Phagocyte) has to disperse the existing clots by itself. We will know more on Monday when we meet with Jane’s usual oncologist, Dr Intravici.

At the moment we have Jane’s sister, Ruth, staying with us which is a helpful distraction.
