We don’t get to the cinema as often as we used to when living in Northampton because we have to travel to either Lincoln, Scunthorpe or Louth. We decided to go on Thursday afternoon with Dave & Lucie to Scunthorpe as we had free tickets as a gift from Lloyds Bank.
The Equalizer was the film that appealed to most of us and the previews of Denzel Washington looked good as the all action hero. Well gratuitous violence has never really been our thing but there was never a dull moment as Denzel’s character killed his way through a series of Russian Mafioso up to five at a time. It’s always good to see the anti-hero come out on top as he inevitably did. The final shoot out with Denzel wielding a nail gun against the most evil of targets in the equivalent of B&Q with the fire sprinklers soaking everything was a showdown to top all showdowns. I’m not sure how they will edit it to show on mainstream TV in three years time because the swearing and violence is extreme.
