Garden Vegetables

plate-pf-our-veg(sep14)It’s one thing to see vegetables in a trug straight from the garden but here we have dinner where all the vegetables have been grown in our garden. Yes tomatoes, potatoes (mashed), carrots and runner beans – to be completely self-sufficient we’d need to keep pigs (note loin chops) but that’s never going to happen because it might upset the neighbours.

Please ignore the lashings of HP sauce as that’s my indulgence and results from not have a great sense of taste.

I can remember going out in my dads veg plot and getting the veg for Sunday dinner, veg has never tasted the same since, but I think yours would have been just as good

They are truly delicious. Jane has been busy pickling shallots and beetroot too. It’s difficult to believe that this fine weather will continue into October so we’re thinking that the runner bean poles need to come down this week.
