Today (Monday) Jane started her second round of her chemo. We arrived at Lincoln County Hospital just before 9am and didn’t leave until 2.30pm so it was a long session. Today it was two drugs, Pertuzumab and Trastuzumab which took nearly two hours to be drip fed into her, afterwards she had to stay in her seat just in case she had anaphylactic shock. As you know Jane isn’t famed for sitting still so being chained to a chair by a drip is torture for her and all she wanted to do afterwards was run.
Thankfully there were no immediate problems and so we rewarded ourselves with a drop into a Costa coffee where Jane tried a cappuccino (she could actually taste it) and I had my usual flat white.
The scheduling for treatments is quite complex and we haven’t quite got our heads around the whole process but we do know that she gets a Docetaxel next Monday. The next session of Pertuzumab and Trastuzumab will be in three weeks time.
Hi Steve and Jane. Thank you for getting in touch Jane. Cannot comprehend what you are all going through. I bet you’re a bloody nuisance to get to behave yourself! What a fab house. Now concentrate on looking after yourselves. Xxx
Good to read that you are still feeling well Jane. Xx
Delighted to hear jane’s treatment continues to go well. Love and hugs from Liz
Thanks Liz. Another tick in the box and Jane is feeling ok this morning although she was a little hyper last night so didn’t sleep well. She refuses to have duvet days but I don’t think she needs them yet.
