Who’s that girl?

Today Jane went to select a wig and learn all about looking after it. It must have been a daunting experience especially as she wasn’t feeling too great.

She tried on several to make sure she knew what sort of shape she was looking for and then she tried on a few more just to experiment.

jane-hair2The second one was ok but the fringe wasn’t right.

Good choice. But disappointed there wasn’t a Dolly Parton one to try.

Hi Caroline, You know what Dolly Parton says? – “It costs a lot of money to look this cheap”. The Janet Street Porter wig was as far as Jane was prepared to go. The wig fitter thankfully made the whole process good fun which helped a lot. Jane hasn’t lost her hair yet and she may have to think about getting it trimmed if it doesn’t fall out soon. Good to hear from you. Steve xx

    And the final choice is??????????

    • Steve says:

Hi Liz, the wig fitter was very good and quickly assessed what Jane would like so the first photo shows the one she first tried on and the one she has purchased. The third one was tried on just for a laugh, although it doesn’t show up too well in the photo it is quite redish and not Jane at all. She’s very comfortable with the one she has chosen and it has been helped by her having her hair cut short before she went into hospital.

That’s hilarious – I had missed you in the mirror Steve – doesn’t Jane look lovely in all the wigs?!
I guess Steve will need one too?!

    • Steve says:

Yes, I’ve been giving Jane advice on what it’s like to not have hair – always being the first to know when it’s raining, having to wear a hat as soon as there’s a chill in the air, and so on. Of course the big difference is that I’ve had nearly 20 years to get used to thinning hair whereas Jane’s will fall out in the space of a couple of weeks.
