Top Down – Hive 2

There’s not a lot I can do for the bees at the moment although when the sun shines I do see a few of them flying. As my level of knowledge grows it is apparent that I will need more than one hive to ensure the bees have a future. At some point in early summer they will want to swarm and I need to be ready with a second hive (Hive 2). With this in mind I’ve purchased flat pack kits for a top, base and brood box. It’s a long time since I’ve built anything and I approached the task with some trepidation. Thankfully there are “how to” videos to follow but it’s a bit difficult to access this in my workshop so I have to watch them a couple of times and make notes before heading out into the cold. So far so good…
