Jane found a voucher for a canal ride from Brayford Wharf in the local paper so we couldn’t resist taking a trip. Dave & Lucie were also available so it made a pleasant morning.
The Brayford Belle picks up passengers in the middle of the city and it is a beautiful area. The Students Union overlooks the wharf – lucky students.
Within minutes we were outside the city centre and into the countryside with dragonflies, ducks and fish. Student accommodation was on one side, visiting narrow boats on the other and views up to the castle and the cathedral.
We enjoyed the hour long trip with coffee served at the half way stage and we completed the morning sitting outside for lunch at the Collection just off Steep Hill.
