Regardless of the snow, rain and wind over the past few weeks and Jane nursing a cold, she has managed to clean up the vegetable garden, scatter chicken manure pellets (phew what a pong?) and top dress with compost.
The rhubarb cover on the left is sheltering a newly acquired plant and let’s hope it survives longer than the one we transplanted from Rothersthorpe. Jane can be seen in the potting shed sowing seeds and generally “pottering” around.

Cor! That puts me to shame. Looks really neat
We hear that Graham has been sowing veg seeds in his greenhouse so he is way ahead of us. If (big if) spring is just around the corner then we need to get some seed trays warming in the potting shed.
Our seedlings “set back” so much when we plant them out it is better just to plant direct when the soil is warmer. That’s my excuse anyway! The other is “wot green’ouse?”
Graham has a greenhouse of sorts against the garage wall. He also puts cloches over parts of the plots to warm the soil.
