Another unusual day for us. Jane has had a suspicion that her lung was filling up again and so after several calls to the hospital and a visit to our GP we found ourselves back in Lincoln County Hospital x-ray department at lunchtime. While we were waiting Jane dropped off into a deep sleep and had a rude awakening when she was called. So after the x-ray she then went to see the doctor who did her chest drain and he confirmed that indeed the fluid was back but it should start to dissipate after the next chemo session tomorrow (Friday).
On the way out of the hospital we saw a fly past of the two Lancaster bombers and the Vulcan bomber. For a short video click here…
Just read your updates on Jane – this afternoon must have been so frustrating at the hospital. Lucky you are there to do the errands! Pleased that you were able to see the Lancasters – they were at Sywell at the weekend but they were not able to fly. I heard today that they are due to be returned to Canada soon but negotiations are underway to keep them a bit longer!
Good news re fluid dissipating after chemo. How amazing to see the fly past………wonderful sight!
Roger has just said the last time he saw the Vulcans was when they were on their way to the Falklands! Love & hugs for you both not forgetting Murphy! x
It is good news that they believe it will dissipate however this is the same doctor who said, on removing the drain, that it wouldn’t return. Our faith in the medical profession is wearing thin.
There might be slight exaggeration in the term fly past as they were a couple of miles away and we could only just make out the outline but it was still impressive. The roads in the area were apparently clogged with traffic trying to get a glimpse of this unique event.
