Another step forward and the wooden cladding is now being nailed to the first floor battens. It looks wonderful in the late afternoon sun.
In the past week the heating has been turned on, the ground floor screed has been laid and the atrium floor tiles are going down. The last of the external doors have been installed although there is still some work to be done to make the house completely airtight. The first floor internal doors have been fitted and the upstairs bedrooms have been painted. The build is really progressing and there has been talk of the house being finished by 17th March but we think this is unlikely as the garage and workshop floors still need to be finished, the stairs installed and the external stairs to the studio have yet to be built let alone installed.
We have also made decisions about the external landscaping and the wood burning stove has been ordered. We’re really looking forward to moving in alongside Dave & Lucie.
