Do they know it’s December?
Accepting this is my first year of keeping bees and I know very little about these superb creatures but everything I have read tells me they should be crowded together inside the hive with the queen at the centre keeping warm. Here they are, outside where the temperature is barely 6 degrees celsius. Why? It seems my bees are of a special strain that like sunbathing (joke).
The photo was taken from the living room with a 300mm zoom lense so the definition isn’t brilliant but I think it gives a sense of what’s going on.
