I’m barely back from Edinburgh and caught up with my washing before I’m driving up to York to meet a friend, have an early dinner at the Ivy and then wander to the pop-up Rose Theatre to see Twelfth Night.
This was a rumbustious performance with the costume design from the flapper period, some of the pieces were set to music and sung and there were short dance routines too. Twelfth Night is a comedy and the cast played it for laughs and they got them. It was an uproarious evening’s entertainment. At the end I went back for coffee. We sat around talking about the show and generally putting the world to rights. Before I knew it, it was 12.30 am and by the time I’d got into the car it was closer to 1am. I rolled into Market Rasen at 2.30am. I was so wired after such a night out I sat up reading and eventually fell into bed at 3am. Bit wrecked on Thursday morning but I don’t think anyone noticed…
