Tudor Pageant

Tudor-Pageant(Jul15)One of the advantages of our volunteering at Lincoln Castle is we get to see some of the special events. Over the weekend there was a Tudor Pageant so we witnessed the arrival of Henry VIII, his wife Catherine and their entourage. The crowds were disappointingly small considering the effort that had gone into arranging the event.

Thankfully they managed to stage the procession before the heavens opened, the forecast rain arrived and everyone rushed for the shelter of the café. At the end of our shift (Jane on the entrance gate checking tickets and me on the walls), after standing in the cold and drizzle for some time we made our way to the café for a large mug of hot chocolate – deliciously warming.
